Behind the Collection: Scattered Seeds
The Story of Scattered Seeds
A celebration of nature's changing seasons, memories and renewal.
Where it Began
Inspired by the quiet beauty of the changing seasons, our Autumn/Winter 2026 collection, Scattered Seeds, explores nature's endless cycle of rebirth and renewal.
As summer gives way to autumn, dried seed heads and delicate botanical forms reveal an unexpected beauty. Captivated by their intricate textures and sculptural silhouettes, Alex and our design team looked to these fleeting moments in nature to create a collection that celebrates the beauty of change.
From intricately crafted pinecones and delicate honesty pods to flyaway dandelion seeds, each piece captures a sense of nostalgia, holding memories and precious moments close, as though carried on the wind.
Inside the Design Studio
Before each piece of Scattered Seeds was brought to life, the collection began with a closer look at the natural world. Drawn to the sculptural beauty of dried seeds and the delicate transition between summer and autumn, Alex and the design team explored the shapes, textures and details that would come to define the collection.
From the intricate structure of pinecones to the delicate forms of honesty pods, these early inspirations gradually evolved into designs that celebrate nature's beauty in its most fleeting moments.
Design Team
In Conversation with the Design Studio
From the first spark of inspiration to the earliest sketches, Scattered Seeds began with a fascination for the intricate beauty of the natural world. We caught up with the creative team to discover the inspiration, ideas and thoughtful details behind our latest collection.
What first sparked the idea for Scattered Seeds?
We were captivated by the beauty of the natural world in autumn, particularly the remarkable way nature condenses so much beauty and potential into the smallest of forms. Seeds are tiny, extraordinary things that we so often overlook, yet they hold the promise of new life and growth.
Following our 40th anniversary Menagerie collection, which celebrated four decades of creativity, Scattered Seeds felt like a natural moment to pause and reflect. It gave us the opportunity to look back at how far we've come, whilst imagining where our designs might take us over the next 40 years.
There's something quite poetic about the changing seasons. With every ending comes the possibility of a new beginning β new life, new growth and the endless cycle of nature.
How did those initial ideas begin to take shape?
It all began with time spent outdoors, collecting seed heads scattered across the countryside and on walks through our local parks.
Back in the studio, we began taking a closer look at our discoveries, carefully dissecting and studying their intricate structures. We were fascinated by the natural engineering behind each seed head, from their delicate textures to the way each individual component fits together.
These observations gradually developed into designs, sometimes beginning as quick sketches to capture a particular shape or idea, and other times moving straight into experimenting with three-dimensional forms in silver.
What do you hope people will feel when wearing a piece from Scattered Seeds?
Scattered Seeds is a quietly confident collection, with an understated elegance that we hope resonates with those who wear it.
We also love the idea that certain seed forms might evoke a sense of nostalgia, perhaps reminding someone of childhood walks, familiar landscapes or treasured moments in nature.
We hope the pieces encourage people to reflect on their own journeys, how far they've grown and the precious moments still to come.
Do you have a favourite detail or design within Scattered Seeds, and why?
We're particularly fond of the sculptural designs featuring individual seed-inspired links, each specially handcrafted to capture the organic forms found in nature.
Pieces such as the Seed Drop Earrings and Seed Chain Bracelet feel especially distinctive. They have a beautiful balance of quiet elegance and contemporary design, whilst remaining firmly rooted in the natural world that inspired them.
Bringing Scattered Seeds to Life
From the first sketches to the finished pieces, each design in Scattered Seeds has been thoughtfully brought to life by skilled hands in our design workshop.
Inspired by the intricate structures found in nature, the collection presented new opportunities to explore traditional jewellery-making techniques. From carefully compressing layers of silver to recreate the delicate forms of honesty pods, to painstakingly building the structured layers of a pinecone, each piece required patience, precision and a close attention to detail.
Among the new designs is our oval keepsake locket, delicately hand-engraved with flyaway dandelion seeds β a thoughtful reminder of the memories and moments we carry with us.
Every detail reflects our fascination with the natural world, transforming fleeting botanical forms into jewellery designed to be treasured for years to come.
A New Season in Store
To celebrate the arrival of Scattered Seeds, we brought the collection's story to life in-store, with thoughtfully curated displays inspired by nature's delicate forms and textures. We also welcomed artist Verity Burton, who transformed our storefront with beautiful hand-painted murals, capturing the spirit of the collection and bringing a fresh artistic perspective to the new season.
