Inline Wild Rose & Bee Ruby Necklace
Designed to encapsulate 40 years of Alex Monroe, this limited edition necklace balances perfectly pretty wild roses with the most beautiful of bees, and is set with a ruby to mark this wonderful milestone.
2026 marks a very special anniversary for Alex Monroe, we can’t believe it, but it’s been forty years!
Founded in 1986, Alex Monroe began with a simple ambition — to design, make and sell beautiful jewellery. Using an old typewriter, Alex tapped out his first (and only) business plan, which he still has — and although the paper may be yellowed around the edges, those original aims remain unchanged. Over the years we have sold to shops all over the world, opened two of our own, had pieces on the cover of magazines and spotted famous actors and even royalty wearing pieces at glamorous parties and events. We have won awards, launched a range of homeware, and even built two buildings to house our growing business. Alex has hosted his own podcast, made jewellery for films and TV and worked on countless collaborations.
Even after forty years, Alex is still designing for the next season with as much excitement as ever, so we see our future filled with fabulous jewellery. But for now, this is our moment to celebrate, and thank everyone who has been part of this wonderful journey!
Selected anniversary pieces will be available online and through our Alex Monroe boutiques.

As we celebrate forty years of jewellery making, it feels only fitting to return to one of our most beloved designs — the Bumblebee. For this special anniversary edition, our Teeny Tiny Bumblebee Necklace has been newly adorned with a rich red ruby, a 2.5mm bezel-set gemstone that adds a vibrant sparkle to this tiny treasure.
Created to mark our 40th anniversary, this necklace is a true limited edition. Only 20 pieces will ever be made.
We’ve created a small collection of One Of A Kind 18ct gold fine jewellery, featuring extraordinary rubies. Each piece was designed and handcrafted in our London workshop. Just as no two moments in nature are ever quite the same, every ruby is beautifully unique — with its own depth of colour, character and glow.
Future heirlooms, made to be worn and treasured for years to come.
This event has now taken place.
Under the guidance of our team of expert jewellers and Alex himself, you will learn how to design and handcraft a loop necklace in our signature style from sterling silver, learning how to texture and solder metal, and work with wire and castings.
By the end of the day, you will have a finished necklace to take home with you, or if you prefer gold, leave it with us, and we will post your newly Fairmined gold-plated piece out to you as soon as it is ready.
This year, for our coveted Trunk Show, we decided to celebrate Alex’s 40th anniversary with a very special edition, unveiled in two instalments.
Delving into the design archive, we revived 40 never-before-seen pieces, each one a completely unique treasure and a joyful celebration of Alex’s signature style. From jewellery rich in texture and whimsical animal escapades to beautiful blooms, the collection brought together four decades of imagination, craftsmanship and character.
As ever, our Trunk Show pieces were one-offs, with many snapped up almost as quickly as they appeared. The first instalment introduced 20 extraordinary designs, followed by a further 20 treasures to complete this memorable 40th anniversary edition.
As celebrations for Alex’s 40th anniversary continued, we unveiled the second instalment of our nostalgic Trunk Show. Delving once more into the design archive, we revived a further 20 never-before-seen pieces, completing the special collection of 40 unique designs created to mark this milestone year.
This joyful second drop celebrated beautiful blooms, buzzy bees and all the playful charm of Alex’s signature style. As always, every Trunk Show piece was a one-off — and this instalment proved a wonderful success, with the collection quickly snapped up and selling out.
Created to celebrate 40 years of Alex Monroe jewellery, we collaborated with British artist Sophie Harpley to create our Wild Rose print, a hand-painted celebration of the natural world, featuring wild roses, honeysuckle and beloved bumblebees inspired by Alex’s jewellery. First brought to life as a beautifully crafted wallpaper, the design has since blossomed into a reusable Kind Bag and notebook, offering new ways to bring a little of its joyful, nature-filled charm into everyday life.
To further celebrate this momentous 40-year milestone, we invited our community to take part in Monroe’s Classic Countdown, revisiting nine much-loved designs from Alex’s archives and voting for the pieces they most wanted to see return. The votes were counted, three favourites were chosen, and those iconic designs have now been lovingly remade and are almost ready to make their comeback. Watch this space, they’ll be launching very soon.
