We would always suggest a gemstone with a higher rating on the MOHs hardness scale to ensure that it will withstand daily wear. Yes! We offer a Bespoke Jewellery Service where you can work with our Bespoke Team to customise options for engagement rings, allowing you to choose the metal, gemstone, and design that best suits your style.

The lead time for Alex Monroe engagement rings varies depending on the design and any customisation options. Whilst we have some rings available for immediate delivery, most of our rings are made to order, so please allow up to 10 weeks for us to finish hand making your ring. Lead times for rings commissioned through our Bespoke Service vary, but our team will discuss timing with you up front. If you need your ring sooner, please contact Customer Care.

Choosing the right size can feel tricky—especially if you’re planning a surprise! One of the best ways is to discreetly borrow a ring they already wear on their ring finger (or the closest fit) and bring it into one of our Boutiques, or a local jeweller, to be measured. You can also order one of our free ring sizers to check it yourself at home. If in doubt, a trusted friend or family member might be able to help with sizing advice. And don’t worry - most rings can be resized after the proposal if needed.

Don’t worry, you’re in good company — many engagement rings are chosen as a surprise, so sizing uncertainty is completely normal. If the size isn’t quite right, we offer an exchange for the correct size within our returns timeframe, as long as the ring is new, unworn, and in a re-sellable condition. If your chosen size isn’t in stock, we can make a brand new ring to order just for you. Prefer to keep the original? All of our 18ct Gold engagement rings include one complimentary resize within six months of purchase.

Yes, you can wear your engagement ring every day. However, it's important to take care of it by avoiding exposure to perfumes, lotions or harsh chemicals and by removing it during activities that may cause damage—for instance gardening or swimming.

To clean your engagement ring, you can use a soft cloth and warm soapy water to gently scrub the ring. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. We also offer a one-time complimentary ultrasonic cleaning service within 12 months of purchase—just contact our Customer Care team and we’ll handle the rest.
